Multi Stakeholder Meeting on Working Towards Channeling Public Finance Towards Clean Energy Access Between India and Africa

 

The multi-stakeholder meeting was a Joint Initiative by Vasudha Foundation and Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) with support from Mott Foundation. The meeting was held on 19th-21st, May 2017 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat timed with the Annual General Meeting of the African Development Bank.

 

The meeting between various stakeholders from India and Africa was organized with an aim to advocate scaling up of funding for renewable energy, by increasing the engagement of International Financial Institutions such as African Development Bank to promote sustainable, clean energy initiatives across the African sub-continent. The three-day event saw participation by Civil Society Groups, Renewable Energy Industry Representatives, Social Entrepreneurs in the Off-Grid Renewable Energy Space, Financiers and banking community, Policy makers and other representatives from both India and Africa. Other organizations associated with the event were The Access Network, Selco Foundation, Teri University, Power For All, Heinrich Boll Foundation, Oxfam, Practical Action, Hivos, Indian Renewable Energy Federation.
